  • Plantago lanceolata, commonly known as ribwort plantain, is a perennial herb that is widely distributed throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. It is a member of the Plantaginaceae family and is often found in meadows, pastures, and along roadsides.

The plant has long, narrow leaves that are lance-shaped and grow in a basal rosette. The leaves are typically 5-20 cm long and 1-2 cm wide, with prominent parallel veins. The flowers are small and greenish-white, arranged in dense, cylindrical spikes that rise from the center of the rosette.

In traditional medicine, plantago lanceolata has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments, including respiratory infections, digestive disorders, and skin conditions. It is believed to have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and astringent properties, and is often used topically to soothe and heal skin irritations and wounds.

Plantago lanceolata is also used in herbal tea blends to support respiratory health, promote digestive function, and provide antioxidant and anti-inflammatory support.
